What was the inspiration for your career route?
I was quite a theatrical child. My mom was always creating; crafts, fashion, food. She taught me that it’s a joy to be creative. My dad loved watching me perform – even at karaoke! He drove me to all my auditions after I got an agent. My older sister instilled discipline and patience in me. I wanted to go to the movie theatre one night, but had an audition the next day. She gave me a look and asked: “Do you want to go and watch a movie, or practice your audition and be in a movie?” Once I started at Victoria Arts School at 14, I was hooked. Nothing in this world can take away those years at art school for me. I was a sponge. I loved it.
